How to enjoy the Marufukuro building from the outside
The check-in time for Marufukuro is 15:00, but in the meantime, you can enjoy the appearance of the "modern reinforced concrete building used as the former Nintendo headquarters building". There is a plate of "Karuta / Trump manufacturer Yamauchi Nintendo" at the front entrance, and you can have a good time just by imagining putting it in this building. On the way to the restaurant "carta" at dinner, you can also enjoy the appearance of the illuminated Marufukuro.
How to enjoy the inside of Marufukuro
After check-in, the staff will guide you through the building. And the staff will tell you that the hotel is free to enter and leave except for other rooms. If you explore other than the building where you are actually staying, there is a rest space on the wall of the stairs and the landing, and you will not get tired of it because things that were actually used at the former Nintendo headquarters building and playing cards of Nintendo are exhibited here and there. Hmm.
How to enjoy Marufukuro's guest rooms
Marufukuro has a different concept for each building, so how to enjoy it depends on the room you stay in. Some rooms have an open-air bath like the "Japanese Suite", while others have a relaxing time while looking out like the "Residential Suite" where I stayed. The room has a minibar, which has plenty of drinks to add to you if you wish. It has a large bath, kitchen and laundry, so it is comfortable even for long-term stays.

Explore and enjoy the area around Marufukuro
The Kamo River runs nearby and there is a road along the river, so you can enjoy a walk along the Kamo River with an electric bicycle rented by the hotel. In addition to the river, there is also a public bath called "Umeyu" and a local dining room.
How to enjoy with friends
You can enjoy staying alone, but it's also fun to stay in groups such as hobbyists. This time I stayed in a group. We had a lot of fun talking about common topics in the room, having special events, and chatting in the lounge. The person who planned it took two rooms, "Residential Suite" and "Standard King", so I was able to sleep comfortably. I learned how to enjoy a hotel that I had never experienced before and expanded my knowledge. It was an experience that was more satisfying than the price.
How to enjoy sightseeing based on Marufukuro
I enjoy the inside of the hotel for one night, so I'm doing my best. If you stay for a few nights, you can explore the area from a comfortable hotel as a base, and you can imagine that it would be fun to visit various shops in Kyoto. You can reach Kiyomizu-dera in about 15 minutes by electric bicycle, and you can enjoy sightseeing in Kyoto with Sanjusangendo and Kyoto National Museum on the way.
